Judy's LovesticksJudy's Lovesticks

Remember when you were a kid and eating out in an Italian restaurant, and the waiter would bring you a bread basket with those oh-so-foreign Italian breadsticks. You'd bite into the light, airy, tasteless, downright stale, exotic treat, and wonder why anyone would eat them. If you were me, you'd use them to conduct the omnipresent Italian music emanating from the hi-fi, or if you were my brother you'd try to stick them up your nose.

Thankfully, these breadsticks from Judy's Breadsticks, produced in Northern California, are a huge departure from those distant memories. Crunchy, tasty and made with whole grains, these sticks satisfy that I-need-to-chew-on-something-right-now moment. I get these moments a lot (no doubt due to early childhood traumas in Italian restaurants) and find these sticks to be the perfect snack, especially when typing at the computer.

My favorites? Well so far, I am hooked on the Sweet Currant Twigs and the Sunflower Twigs, but Judy's Breadsticks has a lot of other equally tasty and beautifully packaged products. If you don't live in the SF Bay area where these are stocked locally in stores, you can order them online at their website. If you are vegan, you will be extra happy with these and if you are not vegan and afraid of anything that says vegan, don't be - these are great, and possibly healthier for you.

And besides, they are made with Love, a resource that there never seems to be enough of, so stock up now.

I hope you enjoy it,

Mimi
