Music - Mimi Fox

Of course I love the name, but her music is lovely as well. Jazz guitar, fingers flying all over the place. I saw her accompanied by bassist Bill Douglass, another wonderful and renowned musician. If you can catch either of these performers in a house concert, try it. House concerts in all genres of music are becoming quite popular and if you haven't gone to one, you are missing out on a unique musical experience. Film - In the Shadow of the Moon

Well, now I will date myself a bit, but one of the fond memories I have of my childhood was sitting in a classroom with the TV rolled in to watch the Gemini and Apollo space missions. If you weren't alive for the Apollo moon missions, this film will give you an accurate picture of the excitement and tension the world experienced during these seemingly impossible adventures. If you were watching them back then, this film will bring back memories about the missions but the political times as well. The footage is fantastic as are the interviews of the Apollo astronauts. The notable missing person is Neil Armstrong, apparently a rather reclusive figure, but his absence and the resulting discussions about his character seem to raise him to the level of a demigod.
